Hello everyone! I am so sorry that it has been so long since I have posted. I hope everyone has been busy. I know I have! Most recently, I began my plants for this year. You can see them in the photo below, (from left to right – Georgia Green Collards, Bunching Onions, Early Dividend [...] Time for a homestead photo update. I hope you enjoy! First, lets check in on how some of my most recent plantings are doing… The extra Shallots I planted a couple weeks up are popping up. I planted 16 pots and all but one have come up so far. I can taste the scapes [...] It has been a while since I did an update on things around the homestead, so I figured I would share a bunch of photos and show people what’s going on. We had a pretty mild winter here and a lot of vegetables made it through. Also, my wormbin has been doing really good. Recently, [...] About a week ago I made my soil cubes to start the first seeds of the season. Below you can see my “soil cube building station”. By the way, I use the Soil Cube by Clayton Jacobs and if you haven’t heard of them they are awesome! It is a little machine that uses hand [...] I got the cold frame filled now. I transferred some of the garlic out and put 2 types of lettuce and some collard greens in. Also, if you look in the corner you can see the 2 2liter bottles I put in to act as heat sinks.
[...] I went out to do some harvesting today and found that some of my collards and leaf lettuce was already going to seed. To be honest I shouldn’t have been too surprised since the plants are from last fall. Still though I was surprised to seed the beginnings of seed so early. I put some [...] |
